Introduction
The original opera Silence “1948”, created for the Yeosu 10·19 Commemoration in 2025, brings the Yeosu–Suncheon Incident to the stage. Rather than simply reenacting history, the work seeks to reexamine and reflect upon this tragic past, offering a space for reconciliation, forgiveness, and communal healing. Through this artistic endeavor, the creators highlight the role of art in confronting painful memories while opening a path toward harmony and understanding.
