Introduction
Based on Aeschylus’s Oresteia, this work uncovers humor and wit within the depths of tragedy through the lens of Korean mask dance. Agamemnon, one of the bloodiest Greek tragedies in which family turns against family, is reimagined as each character’s traits are expressed in the form of mask dance. With earthy banter and playful satire, the performance exposes the hidden truths beneath the harrowing narrative.
